Air China Shares Hit Record High
HONG KONG -- The Hong Kong shares of mainland flag carrier Air China Ltd. jumped to a record high Wednesday after the company said its first-half net profit would surge more than 20 times, helped by the yuan's appreciation and improved investment returns.
The Beijing-based company's shares rose 17.6% to close at 7.27 Hong Kong dollars (93 U.S. cents) after hitting a record HK$7.33 near the end of the trading session.
